Catherine Alvarez is a dedicated and compassionate candidate running for Congress in Texas's 15th District. Despite facing numerous challenges, including growing up in foster care, Catherine persevered and achieved great success. She graduated from the University of Texas and went on to become the Assistant Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Education during the Obama Administration. After leaving the administration, Catherine returned to her hometown of Brownsville and became a high school biology teacher. She has also remained politically active, helping to elect four school board members in 2020 and serving on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit organization Nuestra Casa. Catherine is now answering the call to serve in Congress, where she is ready to fight for the people of the 15th District.

Catherine Alvarez believes that women in Texas should not face criminal charges or be denied access to critical healthcare because of the Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v. Wade. She will fight to protect women's reproductive rights and ensure that Texans have the freedom to make private medical decisions without government interference.

Catherine Alvarez, a teacher and candidate for Congress in TX-15, believes that all children deserve a safe and supportive learning environment and will advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, including protecting transgender youth's access to gender-affirming healthcare and leaving these decisions in the hands of parents, not the state.
